How to change the Shop Default Currency
Virtuemart is a multicurrency store. That means it can handle almost any entity with different currencies and can also display all of this in the selected currency. To ensure a proper calculation of product prices, calculation rules, displayed currency, payment currency and so on, we calculate first everything into the shop currency.
The shop currency is defined as the selected currency in the vendor tab. You can access this vendor tab by using
- the shop edit view (/administrator/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=user&task=editshop)
- the user edit view of the mainvendor (the administrator who installed virtuemart, usually)
Furthermore you can define the accepted currencies, which are then selectable in the currency selector module, to change the displayed currency.
Be aware that you can define your own currencies, including exchange rate and format.
